THE PROGRAM

The Future Leaders Program is Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts’ first initiative to provide the most talented employees a program to develop a professional career within the company. Throughout this program, employees will have the opportunity to discover a new Nikki Beach property while developing new skills and gaining experience from a new and expert team.

The main objectives of the program are:

  • To develop our team into future leaders

  • To enhance our Nikki Beach Family

  • To share expertise across properties

The program will follow these key steps which will accompany each Mentee:

1. SELECTION – Selection of participants to become Mentees.

Every 6 months, a new window will open to select and onboard the next group of participants.

  • Participants will both be internally selected talent (Beta) as external talent willing to join Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts (Phase 2).

  • Participants should be able to enter the program both by application or by referral.

2. ONBOARDING – Introduction to the program comprising of the key information linked to the program, the first assignment, and the name of the Mentor assigned.

  • The Brand Representative will be the main actor during the onboarding process and follow the careers of the program members. It will act as the Mentees’ primary point of contact away from the properties.

  • During the onboarding, a Mentor will be assigned. This person will be in charge of guiding the Mentee and will be their main point of contact at the property during the assignment.

3. PROJECT ASSIGNMENT – Participants will be assigned projects for each stage of their development.

  • Assignments should follow development objectives and should allow the employee to develop skills and grow professionally.

  • Properties should open Assignments for Futures Leaders programs according to their needs.

  • Once approved, openings will be communicated through email to all program members.

  • Upon opening, employees (through their Mentors) can apply to these positions.

4. DEVELOPMENT – Once a Mentee is assigned a mission, she/he will move to the location to start the new Assignment.

  • Assignments will have a duration of 6 months

  • The mission should have clear objectives and KPIs to be able to evaluate the success of the project

  • Apart from operational objectives, development objectives will also be set and agreed upon together with the Mentor and the Brand Representative.

  • As the Mentee grows within the organization, the complexity of the tasks will correspondingly increase as well as the focus on areas of improvement.

5. EVALUATION – The Mentee’s performance will be continuously evaluated during the Assignment.

Evaluation will be tracked through

  • KPI performance evaluations

  • Scheduled assessment meetings with Mentor and Brand Representative

  • Evaluation Questionnaires

At the end of every Assignment a meeting will be held with all the parties to discuss the evolution of the employee and start preparing for the next Assignment.

THE ASSIGNMENTS

Assignments are the different projects and missions the mentees will complete as they follow their growth and career path. All departments are open for the creation of Assignments.

They focus on Mentee’s skill development and growth but must always respond to properties’ needs. This way Assignments will have clear objectives both for the properties and for the Mentees.

Measurable KPIs should be set which should allow the employee and the property to evaluate the performance.

Assignments require the Mentee to collaborate with multiple stakeholders at the property.

The properties, through their HR Teams will be responsible for opening positions targeted towards the Future Leaders Program participants.

Every 6 months properties will need to open Assignments for Futures Leaders programs according to their needs. As the program will grow, so will grow the need of opening new Assignments.

These assignments will be reviewed by the corporate team and discussed with the property’s General Managers before approval.

These Assignments should have a duration of 6 months, allowing sufficient time for the candidate to adapt to the new project and develop himself/herself.

Renewal of assignments will be possible if agreed upon by all the parties.

THE MENTEES

The program is targeted to young professionals with a minimum of 1 year of hospitality experience. They can be working at our hotels in any operating department, from Front Office, to F&B, to the supporting activities like Marketing or Finance.

Proficiency in English will be a requisite, as the willingness to grow, travel and develop a career within our company.

For the Beta stage participants will be internally selected talent. Afterward, applications will also be open for external participants willing to join the Nikki Beach Brand.

To participate in the Future Leaders’ Program candidates must apply by submitting the Mentee Application Form with, amongst others, the below information and documentation.

  • Personal information

  • Aptitude personality test

  • CV and Recommendation Letter (optional)

  • 2-minute self-description video

Candidates will also be required to complete an aptitude test which will allow the company to identify the strengths of the candidates and best match them towards their ideal career path.

The program is targeted toward ambitious, hard-working individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and are globally mobile.

These ambitious individuals need to have a passion for learning and possess great attention to detail.

The selection process will also focus on identifying the key Soft Skills which make a great leader for our organization.

The primary objective of the mentees will be to grow and develop the skills which will allow them to complete the assignments’ objectives.

Mentees will be fully responsible for their behavior and performance during the assignments and will have in their hands the possibility of becoming the next generation of leaders.

There are 3 key stakeholders, each of them collaborating hand-in-hand for the success of the Future Leaders’ Program.

  • Mentees: Mentees are the key focus of the program. They are young talented individuals with specific skills who seek to ultimately become the future leaders of Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts. As part of their journey, mentees will complete different assignments across the company’s properties to gain expertise, experience and develop the necessary skills to succeed. The main responsibility of Mentees is to learn and grow by achieving the goals for each project. This will enable them to progress on their career paths and become senior members of the organization.

  • Mentors: for the moment, Mentors will be the general Managers. They are highly experienced individuals with complete knowledge and understanding of the brand. They are in charge of overseeing the training and development of the Mentees while guiding them along the Assignments. Mentors will evaluate the Mentees assigned and will follow their performance throughout the Mentee's journey. The main responsibility of a Mentor is to guide, teach and evaluate the Mentee during the specific Assignment.

  • Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts: The company, through the Brand Representative, will overview each Mentee’s journey. The main responsibility of the Brand Representative is to support from the corporate office the overall journey and performance of the Mentee by being the Mentee’s main point of contact throughout the program. At any moment, every stakeholder in the program will be able to contact the corporate office through the email future.leaders@nikkibeachhotels.com.

Feedback is essential for the improvement of the candidate and the team

Every assignment should include clear KPIs which will allow for the evaluation of the success of the Mentee.

During the assignment, there will be a minimum of 3 meetings between the Mentee, the Mentor, and the Brand Representative to plan, discuss and openly review the performance (successes and challenges).

At the end of each Assignment, not only the performance of the Mentees will be evaluated, but also that of the Mentor and the program itself.

All parties will be provided with the Program evaluation forms to be completed at the different stages.  Mentees will in any case maintain regular contact with the Brand Representative should they have doubts or require assistance.

If the Assignment deliverables are not met or the Mentee’s behaviors do not reflect Nikki Beach’s values, the Mentee's participation in the program can be halted or terminated at any time.

THE MENTORS

The main role of the Mentor is to guide the Mentee to grow and develop, while successfully completing the Assignment’s objective.

Mentors should be leaders and train and guide the Mentees, outlining a clear path and conducting regular informal/formal meetings while regularly reviewing the Mentee's performance.

The Mentor will play a key part in the success of the Mentee and the program, as she/he will be close to the Mentees during the assignments.

Mentors should be proposed by the properties upon the proposal of the assignments. These should be the properties’ General Managers (at a later stage Mentors can also be Heads of Departments or experienced Location Managers).

Once the Assignment matches a candidate, and after confirmation from both parties, the candidate becomes the Mentee, and the pairing between Mentor & Mentee will be completed and a formal introduction and announcement made.

The mentorship duration will last till the end of the duration of the Assignment, which is currently set to 6-month periods.
